A Novel Third Order Quadrature Oscillator

Abstract

Inthis work, a third-order quadrature oscillator circuit is presented using aninverting current feedback operational amplifier (ICFOA), an active elementthat has attracted considerable attention in recent years. The topologyconsists of two ICFOA, three capacitors and three resistors. The proposedquadrature oscillator topology obtained by, a second-order low-pass filter withvoltage mode, and a voltage-mode integrator with a cascaded closed loop. It hasbeen observed that the implemented system works with the PSPICE simulationprogram and it overlaps with the theoretical results. The theoretical cut-offfrequency is 1.326MHz and the cut-off frequency measured after the simulationis 1.350MHz. In the simulation, 0.35μm MOSIS parameter set and ICFOA CMOSstructure are used. The proposed third order quadrature oscillator powerconsumption is 7.8mW.
